TRAINING CHAIRMAN

 Basic Functions

The district Training Chairman recruits, trains, and leads a District Training Committee in providing Fast Start and Basic Training opportunities for Unit Leaders and training for Chartered Organization Representatives. The District Training Chairman, who is responsible to the District Vice Chairman Program, ensures that unit leaders and other adult volunteers are informed of training opportunities available to them, and serves as a member of the Council Training Committee.

The District Training Committee:

1.           Determines who needs training.

2.           Builds an annual training program. .

3.           Develops plans for specific courses.

4.        Promotes courses,

5.           Provides training recognition.

6.        Evaluates training.

Note:   Explorer  and  Varsity  leader  training  and Commissioner training is performed at the Council level.

Evaluation Criteria

1.         The number and percent of unit leaders completing Fast Start training in the program served.

2.         The number and percent of unit leaders completing Basic training in the program served.

3.         The number and percent of top unit leaders completing Fast Start and Basic program training.

                                      Note:   The minimum percentage standards are:
Fast Start:                 100%
Basic Training:         75%

4.         The   number   and   percent   of   Chartered   Organization Representatives completing training.

5.         The number and percent of boys completing Den Chief training.

6.         The number and percent of boys completing the Junior Leader Training Conference.

As with any leadership position, the leader is best judged by the results achieved by those people who are led.
