DISTRICT SCOUT FAIR YEARBOOK AD SALES CHAIRMAN
Basic Functions
Recruit a team of volunteers to promote the sale of ads for the Yearbook among Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Varsity Teams, and Explorer Posts/Ships to achieve the District goal in dollar value of ads sold.
Evaluation Criteria
1. Be personally involved.
2. Work closely with your District Executive to develop and approve Scout Fair plans, materials, and strategies for your designated area of responsibility.
3. Recruit sufficient volunteers to assure that every unit in the District is asked to sell ads for the Yearbook.
4. Communicate and implement the Council Yearbook Ad Sales plan and related procedures in the District. Emphasize the commission and benefit to the unit treasury.
5. Attend the Orientation meeting. Attend the Area Ticket Sales Kickoff meeting to promote Yearbook Ad Sales. Attend the Scout Fair and opening ceremony.
6. Promote the sale of Yearbook Ads at District Roundtable and other district events.
7. Keep the District Scout Fair Chairman informed of progress.
8. Follow-up to assure that all advertising contracts are completed and submitted to the Council Service Center by the pre-determined deadline date.
9. Call on Scouters in the District and other acquaintances whose companies could place advertising in the Yearbook.
As with any leadership position, the leader is best judged by the results achieved by those people who are led.
A clear understanding of the roles and evaluation criteria for each of the other district leadership positions as provided in the manual is critical to the leader's success.
